It seems that practicality and frugality go out the window when it comes to weddings, so if we want to be savvy backyard brides, then we have to battle against the tendency to want want want and spend spend spend. Purchasing a pre-owned wedding dresses is fantastic if you’d like to not waste thousands of dollars, and environmental damage, on an item you will wear for a few hours.
Where to purchase a pre-owned wedding dress:
Stillwhite.com, which is probably the least well-known, is my favorite. It has such a large selection. It’s actually based on Australia, but all dresses will ship to the U.S.
As you may have read in this blog post, the great thing about pre-owned dresses is that you can purchase them for a fraction of the original cost, and then re-sell them to recoup much of what you spent. So I’ve chosen a few of my favorite dresses from the above pre-owned wedding shops, all less than $2300. The idea is that even if you purchase a $2000 pre-owned dress, you can re-sell it for $1500 and make most of your money back.
